1. Acceptance
By accessing or using ResumeRoast, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and capable of entering a binding agreement. By using ResumeRoast, you represent that you meet these requirements and that information you provide is accurate.
3. The service
ResumeRoast provides AI-generated resume analysis, scoring, ATS feedback, and rewrite suggestions. The service is provided for personal career development.
We may improve, modify, or remove features; update AI models; or make changes for security, legal compliance, or technical reasons. We may also suspend or discontinue parts of the service with reasonable notice where practicable.
4. Service availability
ResumeRoast strives to keep the service available, but maintenance, updates, outages, or technical issues may occasionally interrupt access. Continuous availability cannot be guaranteed.
5. User responsibilities
You agree to:
- Upload only resumes you own or have permission to analyze.
- Keep your account credentials secure.
- Use the service in compliance with applicable laws.
- Not attempt to bypass credit limits, security controls, or rate limits.
- Not scrape, reverse engineer, or resell the service without written permission.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use ResumeRoast to:
- Upload malware, illegal content, or material you do not have rights to share.
- Harass, impersonate, or violate the rights of others.
- Overload or disrupt our infrastructure.
- Generate content for fraudulent job applications or misrepresentation.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
7. AI-generated content disclaimer
Feedback, scores, rewrites, and recommendations are generated by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete, subjective, or outdated. ResumeRoast does not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated recommendations. ResumeRoast is not a recruiting agency, career counselor, or legal advisor. You are solely responsible for reviewing all suggestions before using them in job applications or other materials.
8. No guarantee of employment
ResumeRoast does not guarantee interviews, job offers, salary increases, or ATS pass-through rates. Outcomes depend on market conditions, your qualifications, employer preferences, and factors outside our control.
9. Credits and payments
Roasts consume credits. New accounts may receive starter credits at our discretion. Additional credits are purchased as one-time credit packs. Prices are displayed before checkout. All amounts are in USD unless stated otherwise.
Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for money. Purchased credits remain available until used unless otherwise stated in a specific promotion. Complimentary, promotional, or bonus credits may have separate terms, including expiration, where clearly communicated.
Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's applicable terms and policies. ResumeRoast does not store your full payment card details. We receive only the transaction information necessary to provide purchased credits, maintain purchase history, process refunds where applicable, and provide customer support. 10. Refunds
Because AI processing begins when a roast is initiated, used credits are generally not refundable. Unused purchased credits may qualify for refunds under our Refund Policy. Technical failures on our side that prevent delivery may receive a credit restoration or refund at our discretion.
11. Intellectual property and user content
You retain ownership of the resumes and documents you upload. ResumeRoast does not claim ownership of your user-uploaded content. By uploading content, you grant ResumeRoast only the limited rights necessary to store, process, analyze, and display that content in order to provide the service you request.
ResumeRoast owns the platform, branding, software, and non-user-generated content. AI output is provided for your personal use; you may incorporate suggestions into your own materials.
12. Third-party services
ResumeRoast depends on trusted third-party providers to operate, including Supabase (authentication, database, and storage), OpenAI (AI processing), Paddle (payments), and Vercel (hosting). Interruptions, outages, or changes affecting these providers may impact ResumeRoast's availability or functionality. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how these providers handle data.
13. Account termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, fraud, abuse, or extended inactivity. Upon termination, your right to access the service ends. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms) will survive.
14. Force majeure
ResumeRoast will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet outages, government actions, labor disputes, cyberattacks, or failures of third-party infrastructure.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESUMEROAST AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ResumeRoast from claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ResumeRoast is established and operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply.

20. Changes
